Underdog vs. Advocate: BBC Pundit Final Set

Twelve passionate football content creators have been competing to become the BBC's next football expert, with just two finalists remaining in the Last Pundit Standing competition.
The selected dozen represent some of the UK's most dedicated football enthusiasts, chosen from over 400 applicants through a partnership between BBC and TikTok. Over six intense episodes filmed at iconic football venues, the contestants have faced challenges set by football legends.
The grand finale airs Monday on BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport's YouTube channel, and TikTok accounts from 06:00 BST, with the winner securing a coveted contract as a BBC Sport football contributor.
Nahyan Chowdhury: The Underdog Story
At just 25 years old, Liverpool-based chemist Nahyan Chowdhury (@nahyan.chowdhury) represents the competition's most surprising success story. Despite his limited experience in sports media, his viral Champions League content led to opportunities interviewing Liverpool stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
"I always envisioned becoming a pharmacist," Nahyan admits. "Working 9-5 in a lab while suddenly appearing on this show has been a whirlwind."
His breakthrough moment came during the Goodison Park crossbar challenge, where he was the only contestant to hit the woodwork. "That moment gave me credibility among creators with millions of followers," he recalls.
Nahyan impressed judges including Arsenal legend Martin Keown and referee Rebecca Welch, winning two weekly pundit awards for his Match of the Day presentation and rules knowledge challenges.
Toby Addison: Breaking Barriers
Toby Addison (@blindtobes), a 23-year-old from Chichester, brings a unique perspective as a blind footballer and disability advocate. Diagnosed with degenerative eye conditions at age two, he lost his sight completely at 16 before rediscovering football through blind football - now representing England internationally.
His content creation journey began unexpectedly when a comedy show clip went viral in 2022. "I responded to doubters questioning my condition, and that launched my platform," Toby explains. With over 420,000 combined followers, he creates content with partner Natalie handling editing.
Toby's standout moments included winning the 606 radio challenge with Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage, plus his insightful interview with Sean Dyche. "I showcase both serious analysis and entertaining personality - crucial skills for any pundit," he notes.
The Final Showdown
Alex Scott will crown the winner at Wembley during FA Cup final celebrations. For Nahyan, the experience has been transformative: "Coming from an immigrant family where football wasn't prioritized, this opportunity could change my life."
Toby reflects on their contrasting journeys: "Nahyan's the unknown talent getting his big break, while I bring established media experience. Regardless of who wins, this is just the beginning for both of us."
As both finalists prepare for their career-defining moment, one thing is certain - football media is gaining two compelling new voices.
